As part of the overall guidance program, I am teaching character lessons in the classrooms. Our character defines the kind of person we are and is evident in our actions, small or great, throughout the day, every day. Children watch adults and know if we are friendly, kind, thoughtful, respectful of others and the needs of others, etc. They know if we are sincere and genuine by our attitudes and actions. What an awesome responsibility and privilege to be positive models for them! Some of the character traits that are taught include, gratitude, generocity, kindness, honesty, forgiveness, self-control and self-discipline, goodness and gentleness. I suppose all of these could be summed up in one word, LOVE. Parents, you are building the future day by day as you train up your child to have these values. I have resources available to you on the campus if you wish to contact me. Kay Verhoef
